The Schembri saga came to an end few weeks ago, when the much traveled Maltese starlet made a switch to Hungarian Legends Ferencvaros.

The 24 year old is keen to make his debut this Saturday against Haladas, when the Hungarian League presumes after the winter break. Andre Schembri is not the only Maltese player playing with the club as Maltese International Justin Haber is on of Ferencvaros Goalkeepers. Haber was loaned to Ferencvaros from Sheffield Utd just after the winter break but now he signed an 18 month contract with the club.

Andre Schembri who started this season playing in the Austrian Budesliga with Austria Kaarten, found the Austrian club in finance crisis so they had to sell their best players and Schembri was one of them. Many offers from different leagues have been told to be offered for the creative attacking midfielder like English Championship Blackpool who were very close to capture his signature. After all he decided to join Ferencvaros till the end of the season with an option to sign an extension or seeking other pastures.
