Searching the Globe for more Maltesers!

Although summer is in the middle, clubs and national sides are already in the peak of their pre-seasons. Some of the European Leagues have already started and others that will start in a week or two.

I have been searching the internet lately and guess what I found some Maltese surnames that caught my intensive search to see who these players are. They are playing in the top Australian League with clubs such as North Queensland Fury F.C, Wellington Phoenix F.C & Central Coast Mariners F.C.

Fred Agius – (25yrs old midfielder) recently joined North Queensland Fury F.C in the A League. He wears number 15. Click on the club name to follow him.

Vince Lia – (24yrs old right midfielder) used to play for Melbourne Victory F.C. Now he’s into the second season with Wellington Phoenix F.C. He plays in the same club of Manny Muscat who recently made his debut with Malta. Click on the club name to follow him.

Mitchell Mallia – A great prospect youth player of Central Coast Mariners F.C. He’s forming part of the U17′s of Australia but in the future you never know. With the Mariners also plays John Hutchinson who already made his impact with Malta’s National Team. Click on the club name to follow him.

Maltese Australians can form part of our National Team. M.F.A already made a good move on working to bring Hutchinson & Muscat as they will surely give a good dimension to our squad.

I hope that the M.F.A will send some scouts or delegation members to Australia to examine many of the Maltese descendants playing in Australia’s Leagues. With some good research and connections we can see some Maltese-Aussie talent wearing the Maltese red shirt.
