The UEFA U19 Championship Group 9 mini tournament will commence this Thursday 7th and ends on Tuesday 12th of this month. Together with the hosts Slovenia, Malta have to face the Netherlands and Slovakia in Group 9.

With the Maltese Premier League due to start this month we are going to see 3 local Maltese youngsters making their debuts as they returned after a short spell playing their trade abroad.

The 3 players all of them under 19 years of age are some of the most promising athletes in the Maltese ranks. In their preparations for the matches ahead in Slovakia for the European U19 Qualifiers, Malta U19 yesterday had a positive result when they played against Scotland U19 and won 2-1 in Greenock, Glasgow.

After they have lost against the same Scottish national side 2-0  in the first encounter played on the 16th, the Maltese youngsters under the helm of Michael Molzahn came back to win the 2nd match with goals from Matthew Tabone and Bjorn Kristensen.
